Southern Pines Venue at Wedgewood Club
Wedgewood Club, the facility where Southern Pines is located, used to be owned by the Town of Farmville and was used as an event space and golf course. In December of 2022, Fred, Mark and Todd purchased the beautiful Wedgewood Drive location. The new owners have big plans for this gorgeous greenery and are very excited to share the event venue and golf course with the community in Farmville and surrounding towns.
The Southern Pines Venue at Wedgewood Club is available for an array of events including weddings. It will captivate you with its gorgeous views of Farmville as you dance and celebrate in the ~4,000 square foot reception hall. It has windows all around allowing a very open feel and, with outdoor seating, there is so much space for friends, family and colleagues to mingle. Wedgewood Club is such a beautiful facility, and we are very thankful to run the event space and host wedding ceremonies amongst the lush greens. Because of our association with the Club, we are also able to have bonus cornhole, pickleball and golf aspects to our event packages!

Q&A
Here is a list of questions and answers you may have before booking Southern Pines for your wedding or other celebratory events. Do I have to stick to the three available packages?
No! These packages are a good starting point to understand what we offer and the best prices for those items. We are able to do some things a la carte and would gladly discuss those options with you.
Do you require a deposit and if so how much?
Yes, we do require a deposit. It is 50% of your total sum of the site fee for renting the venue space and is required to hold your event date. The rest of the site fee can be paid monthly or gradual deposits but must be paid in whole 30 days before your event date. We are also able to discuss payment plans to begin with and will be determined on a situational basis.
What do you provide for a wedding?
We offer our chairs and tables for use as well as any decorations you may want to add to your own supply for your ceremony and/or reception. We are continuously adding more pieces to our furniture supply and decorations so make sure to check in close to your date to see all that is available for you.
What decorations are not allowed?
Any decorations you bring are allowed including candles, however, a Southern Pines employee must be in the room with the candles while they are lit. You are not allowed to use nails, tapes or anything that may damage the paint or other parts of the venue. The costs to fix any damages will be taken out of a refundable damage deposit required 30 days prior to your event date.
Can we have alcohol?
Yes you may have alcohol at your wedding! You must obtain an ABC license and show proof of that to us or your caterer must have an ABC license if you are not going with a specific bartending service. You must have an adult 21 years or older serving the alcohol for the entirety of the event.
Is there a room to get ready in?
Yes! We have a bridal suit for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in day of. The groom has availability for private use of our golf pro shop to get ready in, which can be scheduled with our Event Director.
Do I need a wedding coordinator?
You do need a licensed and insured Day of Coordinator or a Mistress of Ceremonies for the day of your wedding. You may outsource one and have them approved or you may use our Event Director for an extra charge. This would have to be decided at a minumum of 30 days before the wedding.
What decorations can I use?
You are able to use any decorations you wish to bring your dream event in our space to life! We have a limited selection of decorations available for use that is ever changing. We recommend our brides send us a Pinterest board or images of their inspiration close to the event date and we will share what we have to offer the day of. If damages come to the facility from decorations or damages come to any pieces of decor borrowed, then the cost of fixing or replacing it will come out of a refundable damage deposit required 30 days prior to your event date.
Do you offer catering or have a specified vendor list?
We do not offer catering but have a list of vendors that you are able to choose from if you wish. Ultimately you are able to bring in whoever you want for your big day as long as they are a licensed and insured company and can show proof of that to us. We must speak with each vendor if they are not already on our list to approve them.
Are there any golf packages?
Of course there are golf packages! We have bachelor and bachelorette packages, as well as morning of packages that we can customize to each couple's wishes. We also have an all-inclusive package that rents out the whole golf course and reception hall for a totally private experience, again, customized to each couple's wishes.
